We have analysed rotation modulated light‐curves of active giants observed with CoRot using spots model. Preliminary results suggest an increase of the surface spot coverage with decreasing rotation period. A maximum of the surface spot coverage seems to occur on giants with effective temperature around 5100 K. Confirmation and interpretation of these preliminary results require groundbased follow‐up observations to measure activity indicators, to identify binary systems, and to determine the stellar parameters and evolutionary status of the sample giants.
