Online License and Usage Terms

Users of AIP's Conference Proceedings Online should review the permitted and prohibited uses. The terms of use are spelled out more fully in the AIP Online Licenses for institutions and individuals.

Web Posting

Only authors are allowed to post their AIP articles on the Internet, subject to AIP’s Web Posting Guidelines.

Copying

Single copies of individual articles may be made for private use or research. Authorization is given to copy articles beyond the free use permitted under Sections 107 and 108 of the U.S. Copyright Law, provided that the copying fee of $30.00 per copy per article is paid to the Copyright Clearance Center, 222 Rosewood Drive, Danvers, MA 01923, USA, http://www.copyright.com. For classroom use fees, contact CCC’s Academic Permission Service. (Note: The ISSN for this publication is 0094-243X. Each volume is also assigned an ISBN.)

Authorization does not extend to systematic or multiple reproduction, to copying for promotional purposes, to electronic storage or distribution, or to republication in any form. In all such cases, specific written permission from AIP must be obtained.

Note: Copies of individual articles may also be purchased online via AIP's DocumentStore service.

Permission for Other Use

Permission is granted to quote from the AIP Conference Proceedings with the customary acknowledgment of the source. Republication of an article or portions thereof (e.g., extensive excerpts, figures, tables, etc.) in original form or in translation, as well as other types of reuse (e.g., in course packs) require formal permission from AIP and may be subject to fees. As a courtesy, the author of the original proceedings article should be informed of any request for republication/reuse.

Obtaining Permissions and Payment of Fees

Using RightsLink®: AIP has partnered with the Copyright Clearance Center to offer RightsLink®, a convenient online service that streamlines the permissions process. RightsLink® allows users to instantly obtain permissions and pay any related fees for reuse of copyrighted material, directly from AIP's website. Once licensed, the material may be reused legally, according to the terms and conditions set forth in each unique license agreement.

To use the service, access the article you wish to license on our site and simply click on the Permissions/Reprints link in the abstract. If you have questions about RightsLink®, click on the link as described, then click the “Help” button located in the top right-hand corner of the RightsLink® page.

Without using RightsLink®: Address requests for permission for republication or other reuse of AIP Conference Proceedings articles or portions thereof to:
